A commissioned painting of Broadway Tower of the famous Cotswolds landmark, entitled ‘Broadway Twilight’. Originally built as a folly, it served as a country retreat for artists including Arts and Crafts Movement founder William Morris. Today, the tower is a tourist attraction and the centre of a country park.
BRIEF
My client told me “This place holds many happy memories”, she wanted “more than just a photo” to adorn her wall, and asked me to create this painting. From the outset I have sought to capture the sense of space plus the atmosphere from the fading light.
